Where do you stand? Certainly not in front of the trolley collector!
You should ask the supermarket manager for their insurance details and details of their head office address. (They must give you the details by law)
Write to the head office stating what happened and that you are holding them responsible for the negligence of their employee and that you wish to claim against their insurance.
Keep a copy of the letter and be guided by their reply as to getting the vehicle repaired.

Had you reported it at the time (In the UK) it still constitutes criminal damage and is an offence. Just because It was not necessarily deliberate doesn’t give the person a defensive.
Reckless Criminal damage I think they call it now. But yeah you can report it to the store and if that goes no where consider the Police, Non-emergency number of course :)

No doubt there is a sign saying “cars parked at own risk” somewhere which they will use as a get out.
However, if it was their employees fault then they are liable.
Don’t let them palm you off.
If any problems with the branch then get in touch with the head office.
    Their insurance will cover this.

its been established that the collector was an employee and had acted in the course of employment. u could most probably claim against the supermarket coz the employers are held liable for their employees actions. though it needs to be proven whether it was a negligent act.
if u dnt understand me i suggest u look up on the internet under civil liabilty or simply jus go and talk to ur insurance company.

you are on private property..its not a public car park..having said that..weather there is a sign displaying dismissing any liabilities or not, the store still has a legal responsibility to their customers…hence public liability insurance..so here is what i suggest and this would only work if you actually saw the person do damage with an independent witness..firstly wait for the manager to come to you..if you are not happy…i would then write to their head office with a simple but non threatening letter…if that fails you only have one option….small claims court..making any claim on your insurance would be done if fully comprehensive which may involve in you losing your no claim discount.

No doubt the supermarket has and will tell you that they do not accept any responsibility for damage and parking is at yopur own risk. This is true for damage caused by joe public, but NOT TRUE if their employee causes the damage even if accidentally. Provided you have the evidence, sue them!

technically unless you prove he pushed them in there and if its your word vs his your going to lose by parking in there lot you agree all carts that do damage to your car you will accept and not be held responsible. Your word vs his you lose video evidence you win.

You would have to claim on your own insurance. You will find that there is a sign saying you are parking at your own risk and that the supermarket will not accept liability for any damage however it was caused
