So I am going to okinawa japan to visit my fieonce in June. Because he is in the military he can not rent a car while I am out there. So I started looking into getting a international drivers license. I found some web sites that offer them but, since I can’t seem to find one that is goverment sponcered I am worried about being scammed. Does anyone know a reputiable sourse?

I am an Aussie and traveling to LA. Obviously I will need to rent a car!
If I’ve an international drivers license permit from Australia will I be exempt from the foreign license charges that car rental companies love to give? Generally they charge $5-10 per day if your on a foreign license.
Just trying to save as much money here as possible!

I have a NYS drivers license valid til 2015.
However, my working visa expired and am now living in Japan. Can I still use this license with my old NY address to rent a car in Hawaii?

My husband and I need to drive from Delaware to Alabama this spring. He’s 24 and has a class C CDL. We were just checking out car rental rates and all companies will charge us a $25 per day surcharge just to rent a compact car! This is absolutely ridiculous! Its going to double the cost of renting the car. Is there any way to get around these things?
